Plumbing & Electrical
Requirements:
Plumbing:
- Relevant Engineering NCV at NQF level 3 and a minimum of 3 years relevant Work experience; or
- Relevant engineering (NC(V) 4 Plus completion of all relevant work, experience, modules and minimum of 18 months relevant work experience; or
- Technical Grade 12 with Maths, Engineering Science and related trade, Theory subject and a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience; or
- Relevant (directly related to the trade theory subjects) N6 certificate; or
- National Technical Diploma (S or N stream) with 18 Months relevant work experience.
Submission Requirements Plumbing:
- A small Portfolio of Evidence (POE) file is necessary showcasing your 3 years of experience containing evidence such as:
- Installation and maintenance for various plumbing fixtures, including toilets, showers, drains, basins, baths, below-ground and above-ground drainage, and geysers.
- Risk assessments and job cards for each task are required (template attached).
- Additionally, please provide invoices and quotations for these jobs, along with evidence of communication with clients viaemail or messaging apps.
Electrical:
- N2 Certificate including the relevant trade theory subjects and a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience; or
- Relevant Engineering NCV at NQF level 3 and a minimum of 3 years relevant Work experience; or
- Relevant engineering (NC(V) 4 Plus completion of all relevant work, experience, modules and minimum of 18 months relevant work experience; or
- Technical Grade 12 with Maths, Engineering Science and related trade, Theory subject and a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience; or
- Grade 9 and a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience; or
- Relevant (directly related to the trade theory subjects) N6 certificate; or
- National Technical Diploma (S or N stream) with 18 Months relevant work experience
Submission Requirements Electrical:
- A Portfolio of Evidence (POE) showcasing your 3 years of experience, organized in a leather arch file, containing evidencesuch as (Proof of +/-10 pictures):
- Risk assessments (Health and Safety).
- Operation and maintenance of various equipment (e.g., pedestal drill, grinder, portable drilling machine).
- Use of energy meters and electrical testing instruments.
- Installation tasks (e.g., connecting energy meters, measuring resistance, fitting plugs/wall sockets).
- Other relevant skills and tasks will be a good advantage to your POE.
Note: Certification is administered by Construction CETA & requires a significant amount of time to complete.
Fees:
- R3 300 - Course Fee
- R1 840 - Accommodation
Accommodation includes: 3 meals daily
Learning to be in place before applying to perform the trade test:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in plumbing/electrical (approximately 36 months).
- A service letter on official company letterhead (with company registration number & company VAT number) is essential, confirming:
- Starting and end dates of employment.
- Duties performed, listed in point form.
- Signed by a manager.
- Any relevant quotations/invoices related to your work.
- Additional documentation substantiating your experience as a plumber/electrician.
- 2 Certified copies of Identity Document.
- Proof of payment.
