Full Occupational Qualification Bricklayer
This full occupational qualification course is 3 years (practical & theoretical).
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a recognised qualification as a skilled
(qualified) bricklayer, enabling you to pursue a rewarding career in the construction trade.
Some areas of training:
- Understand and apply health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
- Understand and apply basic quality control principles in construction.
- Understand and apply the correct use of construction tools, equipment, and materials.
- Understand and interpret building plans and perform basic site calculations.
- Lay bricks, blocks and stone for building superstructures and decorative features
- Understand and apply concrete work, paving and finishing techniques.
- Transfer levels, set out structures and excavate foundations.
This course is accepted in South Africa and internationally once a conversion examination is done for the country that you want to go to, this is not done by PCD College.
Requirments:
- Grade 11 passed with Maths & Science.
- NQF Level 3 qualification equivalent to N2 knowledge areas of Engineering Maths, Science and Building Drawings.
- Applicants without Grade 11 Maths and Science will need to undertake an additional year of study to bridge the gap. This will result in a four-year course duration, rather than the typical three-year program.

Accommodation includes: 3 meals daily

Fridays: 08:00 – 12:00
